Converting Instructor Led Training (ILT) to Virtual Class Training (VCT)

ILT Materials                  VCT Materials

.
While doing my Post Graduate Diploma in Instructional design in 2010-2011, I got chance to be a part of a Virtual Class Training. Really, I would love to study on VCT.

As all of you know, ILT is the best effective type of training. In this training, live questions, answers and feedback for them are performed. A trainee can ask questions to his Instructor and get answer at the time of the training session. Interactions between instructor and trainees create a learning environment in fruitful ending of the training session.

But, as the technologies are going to be a part of training sessions, so ILTs are converting into VCTs.
Leader's Guides are changing into PowerPoint Notes Section, Participant Workbook  into Word Doc file, Handouts into Adobe PDF Files, Flip Chart into Whiteboard, Blackboard into Whiteboard, VCR/Film into Pre-work DVD/VHS, Markers, pens, highlighters into annotation tools, Computer into application sharing and testing method into polling questions.

So, considering these changes in materials, there is a need for instructor as well as for trainees to be trained in the latest technologies. So that, VCT can be performed in its best method.

Have you ever be a part of VCT?

ADDIE Model: The Key to Custom Content Development and A Best Project Handler

One of the most common Instructional Design models is called ADDIE.
Are you familiar with the ADDIE design model? You may be or not.

But,  ILT (Instructor Led Training) /WBT (Web based Training) /CBT (Computer based Training) and even VCT (Virtual Class Training) all use the same common Instructional Design Model.

In this process, each step Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation have its task that would be done, roles that team members of any project play and estimated time.

As you can see in the above image, the most time of project is spent on doing analysis, designing design documents and developing  medias. But, Implementation and Evaluation steps use less time.

Some times, when there is no more budget for a project, the evaluation step is not applied on the project.

In this process, you can see the roles of Project Manager, Instructional Designer,  and Subject Matter Expert are most important. And also, an instructional designer evaluates each step perfectly.

Due to the power of this model, I like to apply it while I am developing elearnnig modules.
Do you also?
